First the Evil and Corrupt Way (also the more slow way at first buy easier in the end):

This is the way most people use.  First make some money, around 10,000 gold should do.  Use that money to buy as many houses and stalls as you can.  Then leave your game on over night, this way every five minutes instead of every hour you will be payed.  It also helps to raise prices/rent to 100% (but that will make you corrupt).  Then as you make money continue to buy houses, stalls, and buisnesses.  Before long you will have millions of dollars and will make roughly 10-12 thousand every five minutes.  By the end of the game i was making over 20 thousand and was able to buy every building in the game.

Second way (much faster to begin):

This way requires much less money to start with.  It can be done with roughly 3-4 hundred dollars.  Go to Bowerstone Market and visit the blacksmith.  Buy as many weapons as you can.  Then travel to Fairfax Gardens (about 1hr game time).  Sell the weapons to a weapons trader, this includes pistol/rifle traders.  They should give you a 32% markup.  Then return to the blacksmith and repeat.  You should be able to do this multiple times because the distance between the two areas is not much.  I’ve made as much as 300,000 doing this.  Also as you progress in the game you can buy from Oakfield, Westcliff, Bloodstone and sometimes in brightwood.

Another interesting idea would be to combine both tactics… Use the weapon one to make money and then use that money to invest in houses and continue until you are King/Queen!
